These pictures are all pictures that I took to try to imitate Eliot Porter's work. I took photos with contrast and with a landscape aspect to them.

This is my second attempt to create photos similar to Eliot Porter. This time I have taken photos that compare and contrast, just like Eliot Porter.

Eliot Porter Imitation Photos

For this assignment, I had to pick a photographer and take similar style photos to their own work. I chose Eliot Porter, who is well known for his landscapes. I imitated a few landscapes, but also a few close up shots because he takes those types of pictures as well.

Portraits

The objective of this assignment was to take pictures of people without them posing for the picture. We did not use any props, distracting backgrounds, shadows, or anything else that wasn't the background or the model. This photos were inspired by the photographer Richard Avedon.

 

 

Narriative Images Part 2

This is Part 2 of Narrative images. The assignment was to try to tell a story or to create a scene using little dolls.

 

Narrative Images

For this assignment we had to take little dolls and fix them in front of books or nature to make a scene.

Depth Staging

This assignment was to create depth with two objects. One object was in the foreground, and one was in the background. Most times the background is slightly fuzzy or out of focus but in some cases both the foreground object and background object are both in focus.

 

 

Repetition

The objective of this assignment was to look for and take pictures of repetition. Repetition can cause the eye to move forwards or backwards in the frame of the picture depending on the direction of the repetition.
