Depth Staging

This assignment was to create depth with two objects. One object was in the foreground, and one was in the background. Most times the background is slightly fuzzy or out of focus but in some cases both the foreground object and background object are both in focus.

  1. Your photos are filled with nature. I like how you chose that as your focus. The one with the flower is the most successful of your batch. It really shows depth between the two objects especially since the background is blurry. The others show some depth staging but it doesn't really create depth. Good Work.

  2. Lindsey, I really like your pictures. I think that the picture with the flower represents this assignment really well. Maybe next time you should try to make your backgrounds kind of blurry, so that it shows even more depth.

  3. I love your photos and I like how there is a theme between them. The flower one accomplishes the assignment the best. One tip is to make your center focus more close up to cause more depth instead of a 2D photo. Great Job

  4. I love your photos. I like the idea of holding a flower or leaf in front of the camera to get depth staging, but I thought it was over used a little. Next time, I would try to experiment with different edits to your photos.

  5. All your photos are really interesting. I think the photo of the flower really illustrates the concept of the assignment the most. For your other photos you could have tried to blur out the background more, like you did in the flower photo. Overall your photos are great.

  8. I really love your photos especially the one where you are holding the flower and the one where you are holding the leaf. Both these photos really capture the assignment because the backgrounds are blurry. The others do show the assignment of depth staging but don't capture depth as well as the other two. Maybe try blurring out the backgrounds of the other ones to create a greater amount of depth.
